Stabilisers |
The aircraft empennage
is made up of the vertical and
horizontal stabilizers. Both are constructed much the same as the wing panel in the fact they
both have a forward
and aft spar. Each spar is connected with ribs running forward and aft. The skin of the stabilizers is attached to
the ribs to form the surface of
the stabilizer.
Vertical Stabilizer
The vertical stabilizer includes the dorsal fin, vertical stabilizer, rudder hinge bracket, rudder, rudder bell crank hinge bracket, rudder trim tab actuator, rudder trim tab, rudder torque tube, and the rudder bellcrank.
Horizontal
Stabilizer
The horizontal stabilizer is made up
of the elevator torque tube, elevator trim tab, elevator trim tab actuator, elevator, elevator hinge
bracket, horizontal stabilizer, elevator hinge assembly, and the
elevator horn
on the right elevator.
