The King Air C90 A/B/GT/GTi is powered by two wing-mounted turboprop engines manufactured by Pratt and Whitney Aircraft of Canada Limited, a division of United Technologies. Each engine drives a constant-speed propeller, which is capable of feathering, reversing, and operating in a beta range for ground operations. On the ground, the propeller is usually placed in feather when the engine is shut down and unfeathers during engine start if the propeller control lever is moved out of the FEATHER detent prior to  start. The  powerplant  is  equipped  with  ice protection and can be equipped with an optional fire-detection system and fire-extinguishing system.

All values such as pressures, temperatures, rpm, and power are used for illustrative meaning only. Actual values must be determined from the maintenance manuals and from the appropriate sections of the Pilots Operating Handbook and the FAA-approved Airplane Flight Manual. Information in this chapter is superceded by information issued by the manufacturers or the Federal Aviation Administration.
